If this is the case, consider undergoing a less invasive procedures that result to less scarring. Ask your doctor about the Silhouette Thread Lift. This relatively new procedure is a much less invasive than a facelift, so recovery time is shorter. Here are a few things you need to know about the Silhouette Thread Lift:

·         It is officially approved for the European market and complies with the international standards (ISO 13485).

·         The main element of the Silhouette Thread Lift is the Poly L-Lactic Acid (PLLA) which is biocompatible and absorbable. It has long been used in medical procedures as a suture thread, pin or nail for bone fractures.

·         The affected areas of the face are the following: jaw line, cheek, eyebrows and neck.

·         It morphs the contours of the face into a naturally lifted look that can make you look younger.

·         It is recommended for people who are looking to get rid of the signs of aging such as wrinkles and sagging skin. Most clients are men or women over the age of 30.

·         The entire procedure takes roughly 30 minutes.

·         Because the treatment is minimally invasive, there are no special requirements pre-treatment. That said, you still need to inform your surgeon of any medical treatments you have received recently, or any medicine you regularly take.

After the procedure, slight bruising and irregularities may appear especially at the entry points, but this is normal and the small scars usually fade after a few days.

Neck Lift Surgery: 3 Things You Must Do Before the Surgery

As much as the latest and finest foundations, concealers and creams can hide and correct fine lines and wrinkles on the face, they do very little for the neck. In fact, no amount of makeup can hide the inevitable sagging and wrinkling around the neck area. Consider a neck lift surgery if this part of your body bothers you. There are several things you need to do prior to a neck lift. Your surgeon may advise you to do the following, depending on your condition:

1. Testing: You will be asked to undergo routine laboratory tests such as blood test, urinalysis, ECG (Electrocardiogram), and chest x-ray. If you have a history of heart problems, then a stress test may be needed. This should be done 3 to 6 weeks before the surgery. If you are a female, a pregnancy test may be necessary as a surgery will need to be postponed if it comes out positive.

2. Lifestyle changes: You may be advised to stop drinking and smoking (including any nicotine patches, pipes, snuff etc.). Your doctor may also ask you to stop taking any dietary or herbal medications and supplements in preparation for your surgery. Hair treatments such as haircuts, perms and colouring should be done three weeks before the surgery. Hair treatments will be allowed after around 5 weeks after the procedure. Fasting is also a requirement. Do not consume anything after midnight, including water, coffee, gum, candy etc. On the day of the surgery, you must not wear makeup, hair or nail products, contact lenses, dentures, false hair wigs or extensions, etc.

3. Ask for help: If you live alone, then it is advisable to ask a family member or friend to help you during your recovery. Prepare pillows to ensure that you head and neck are elevated. Also, prepare ice packs and groceries just in case so that you have everything you need at home.

Dermal Fillers - Pre-&-Post-Treatment Care

Are you looking for a treatment for wrinkles and facial lines? Dermal fillers may be right for you. The procedure will give you smoother and more youthful skin by plumping the wrinkles on areas such as your forehead, eyes, mouth, and hands. You can also get dermal fillers if you want to add volume to your cheeks, bridge of the nose, and lips. A dermal filler procedure generally takes around thirty minutes, and you will be able to go about your usual activities immediately after the procedure. If you are planning to get dermal fillers, here are the care and safety measures that you have to do before and after the treatments:

Pre-treatment Care

Not everyone can be a candidate for dermal fillers. You are not supposed to undergo the procedure if you are pregnant or nursing, taking Accutane (you may only get dermal fillers 6 months after your last Accutane treatment), experiencing a cold sore/fever blister/skin infection, and if you are under the influence of alcohol at the time of the procedure.

If you are taking aspirin, it will be best to stop using it one week before you get your dermal fillers because it will worsen the bruising and swelling. A day before your scheduled treatment, you should inform the staff if you have a history of cold sores so that you can be prescribed with anti-viral medication.

Post-treatment Care
After the procedure, you will probably experience bruising, which can last one to two weeks. The treated area may also feel tender for a few days. If there are no complications after the treatment, you make apply your makeup gently if you wish. You may also wash your face gently a few hours post-treatment. Remember to avoid touching the area, doing strenuous exercise, and drinking alcohol. It is advisable to have a follow-up appointment with your doctor one to two weeks after your treatment.

When looking for a surgical clinic in the UK, choose one that can offer you the highest levels of surgical excellence and premium quality care. The clinic should have highly-experienced surgeons in order to ensure that your treatment is safe and effective.
